This past week I have begun to go through access to information process (ATIP) requests that have already been completed by the Government of Canada/Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces which address “cyber.” In the coming weeks I will begin cataloguing all the pieces into a single post that I will update overtime.
I have decided to use this substack to catalogue everything received. I will also be submitting my own ATIPs. These ATIPs, both new and already requested, will serve two purposes:
A public archive of documents to better track cyber defense policy and actions by the government
Such information will be used to continue writing about Canadian cyber defense.
On the topic of writing about Canadian cyber defense, I have begun writing a new update to my Canadian Global Affairs Institute series on Canadian cyber defense. This update will broaden what I normally look at to look at CAF digital transformation broadly and what it means for cyber defense.
The good news is that it will be a lot more positive to the CAF than my previous papers have been and I am quite excited about what they have planned. I am not sure I can say the same about the DND side of the house…
